A day after Mulayam Singh Yadav expelled his son Akhilesh Yadav and brother Ramgopal Yadav from the Samajwadi Party, their expulsion was revoked on Saturday after a series of meetings.

A day after Mulayam Singh Yadav expelled his son Akhilesh Yadav and brother Ramgopal Yadav from the Samajwadi Party, their expulsion was revoked on Saturday after a series of meetings. The expulsion was revoked within 24 hours of the decision taken by party supremo Mulayam on Friday. As a peace formula, Akhilesh met Mulayam on Saturday and pitched for making him the state party president in place of Shivpal.

Mulayam had called a meeting of all 393 candidates that the party has officially declared for the upcoming Uttar Pradesh elections on Saturday.

CM Akhilesh had also announced a parallel list which included a majority of these candidates, which irked the party supremo. 

Akhilesh had also convened a meeting of MLAs as a showdown against Mulayam in order to establish that a majority of SP MLAS are with him.

There were reports that AKhilesh may also come up with a brand new party, Rashtriya Samajwadi Party, which can have motorcycle as its symbol.
