News Nation presents the trends and predictions on the basis of the exit poll it conducted in four out of five states ahead of the results that will be out on May 19. Can it be called as a referendum for the Narendra Modi government? However, out of these 5 states, the BJP can expect win in only one - Assam.

News Nation Exit Poll predicted win for Mamata Banerjee in West Bengal, while Jayalalithaa has emerged as the first choice for Chief Minister in Tamil Nadu. The BJP is predicted to take Assam, while there seems to be a close fight between UDF-LDF in Kerala.

According to the exit poll results, the first choice for CM in Assam is Tarun Gogoi and Mamata Banerjee in West Bengal, while Oomen Chandy is the favourite in Kerala.

Four states were surveyed for News Nation Exit Poll in which the opinion of around 16,000 people was sought. The sample survey was collected from more than half assembly constituencies. In West Bengal and Assam, the surveys were filled after vote cast. In both these states, survey was conducted after every phase of voting.
