American carmaker Jeep has launched the petrol version for its Longitude (O) variant of the Jeep Compass in the Indian market which is priced at Rs 18.90 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi). Earlier, the petrol engine version was only available in the base Sport model, Limited and the Limited Plus models. The Longitude model of Jeep Compass is the second costliest model in the line-up of the SUV. Jeep Compass was launched in the year 2017 and since then four variants are available in the market. However, the company is all geared up to launch another top end variant in the line-up which will be called as Trailhawk later in the year.
The Jeep Compass petrol comes with a 1.4-litre MultiAir turbocharged engine which can produce a power of 160 bhp and 260 Nm of torque. It is mated with a 7-speed DDCT dual-clutch automatic transmission on the Longitude (O) model. However, there is no AWD (All Wheel Drive) available on the petrol variant of Jeep Compass.

Jeep Compass is available in six colour options including Vocal White, Minimal Grey, Brilliant Black, Exotica Red, Hydro Blue and Grey Magnesio.
The diesel engine of Jeep Compass Longitude (O) is a 2.0-litre Multijet II Diesel engine which can produce a power of 173 ps and 350 Nm of torque. It is mated with a 6-speed manual transmission.
On the interior side, Jeep Compass Longitude (O) sports a UConnect with a 7-inch Touchscreen Display which supports both Android Auto and Apple CarPlay. It supports Integrated Voice Command, Bluetooth Audio Streaming and has six speakers overall. It also boasts USB ports, rear USB port, Auxiliary Input Jack and also has a 12V Power outlet.
On safety front, the Jeep Compass comes with a Electronic Parking Brake (EPB) along with Active Turn Signals. It also has a Anti-Lock Brake System (ABS) with Electronic Brake Distribution (EBD).
