New Delhi:
Japanese automaker Nissan might introduce the next-gen Micra in the Indian market in 2019.
According to Autocar India, the new hatchback will be launched in India in 2019 and the hatchback is likely to get a minor facelift.
The European-spec Micra is based on the Nissan's V platform. But the India-spec model will be based on the CMF A+ platform to keep the costs down. Localisation of components will also help in competitive pricing.
While no diesel engine is expected with the new Micra, the X-Tronic CVT automatic gearbox will be offered as an option to a five-speed manual.
The Micra currently competes in the competitive hatchback segment, along with the Maruti Swift and the Hyundai Grand i10.
