At the Auto Expo 2020 in Greater Noida, Hero Electric unveiled its number of products including a new electric motorcycle i.e. Hero AE-47. It is to be noted that AE-47 is the first electric motorcycle from India's largest electric two-wheeler brand by volume. According to a report of NDTV’s carandbike, the AE-47 has been showcased as a premium product from the homegrown electric vehicle manufacturer, although it is not entirely manufactured in India. The company stated that Hero Electric is choosing to source components and even the design from its overseas partners.
Hero Electric MD Naveen Munjal said, "This is positioned as a slightly premium product from our portfolio, and while we will continue to focus on mass market electric vehicles, the AE-47 is a product which existing customers can aspire to upgrade to."
"It is a high-performance electric motorcycle and has a top speed of close to 100 kmph, and it's a product which is premium and aspirational. Considering the strength of our network, we have lots of hopes on our new product range," he added.
Hero AE-47: Specs & Features
Under the hood, Hero Electric AE-47 comes equipped with a 4,000 Watt electric motor. It has a portable lithium-ion 48V/3.5 kWh battery which can be fully in just 4 hours. The company claims that Hero Electric AE-47 has a top speed of over 85 kmph.
Hero Electric AE-47 has two modes i.e. Power mode and Eco mode. In power mode, the range is claimed to be 85 km on a single charge. Whereas, in the Eco mode, the estimated range is 160 km on a single charge. The AE-47 has claimed acceleration figures of 0-60 kmph in 9 seconds.
On the features front, Hero Electric AE-47 includes a digital instrument console, keyless access, mobile charger, walk assist and reverse feature. The vehicle is backed by a mobile app featuring GPS, GPRS, real-time tracking and geofencing.

Hero AE-47: Price & Launch
Priced at between Rs 1.25 to Ra 1.5 lakh, Hero Electric AE-47 will be soon launched in India.
