Bajaj Auto started the delivery of its V15 bike made from the scrap metal of INS Vikrant aircraft carrier. The 150-cc vehicle shot to fame when Bajaj Auto had teased the V15 on January 26, Republic Day.
The latest entrant from the Bajaj Motorcycles stable comes with a relatively affordable price tag. Its ex-showroom prices will be Rs 61,000 and Rs 61,832 at Delhi and Mumbai respectively.
This V15 has been shot to fame for its patriotic association as the company plans to deliver the vehicles booked till March 20 from March 23, the 85th death anniversary of freedom fighter Bhagat Singh.
If reports are to be believed, the company plans to continue making the bike even after it runs out of metal from the INS Vikrant. Below are the specifications of the V15:
Design:
It comes with a large fuel tank which contains the metal of the invincible INS Vikrant. It will come with a wheelbase of 1315mm with length of 2044mm, width of 780mm and height of 1070mm. The new bike will come with a ground clearance of 165mm and kerb weight of 135.5kg.
Engine:
The new Bajaj V will come with a 149.5cc, single cylinder, four- stroke, SOHC 2 valve, Air cooled, DTS-i engine churning out maximum power output of 12bhp @7500 rpm and maximum torque of 13NM @5500rpm.
Suspension:
The upcoming Bajaj V comes with a large 33mm dia front forks and rear shock absorbers, making it the largest in its class. The wide front and rear tyres offers solid grip to the bike. Moreover, the aluminium die-cast wheel with a distinctive premium 5 double spoke adds to the character.
Color and Price:
Bajaj V15 comes in Ebony Black and Pearl White. The new Bajaj V has a price tag of Rs 61,000 (ex showroom, New Delhi) and Rs 61,832 (ex showroom, Mumbai).
