New Delhi:

Benelli Leoncino 250 will be launched in India on October 4, 2019. It is to be noted that with Benelli Leoncino 250, the Chinese-owned Italian manufacturer will re-enter the quarter-litre segment after the TNT 25 was discontinued last year. Benelli Leoncino 250 is the smaller, more affordable version of the Benelli Leoncino 500. Yes, you read it right. Benelli Leoncino 500 was launched in India just a few months back at a price of Rs 4.79 lakh (ex-showroom).

As far as the looks are concerned, Benelli Leoncino 250 is inspired from the 500 cc version. It was seen at EICMA 2017 in Italy. Benelli Leoncino 250 comes with the retro style that houses the teardrop fuel tank, oval LED headlamp with DRLs and LED indicators. Benelli Leoncino 250 further sports a new high strength steel Trellis frame, swingarm and suspension that remains specific to the motorcycle. The motorcycle also houses an all-digital instrument console, as against an analogue unit on the Leoncino 500.

According to a report of overdrive.in, Leoncino 250 comes equipped with a liquid-cooled, single-cylinder engine that produces 27.19PS and 20.5Nm. It is mated to a six-speed gearbox.

Benelli Leoncino 250 uses a single 280 mm petal disc brake at the front and a 240 mm petal disc at the rear with dual-channel ABS. Whereas, suspension duties are handled by 41 mm USD forks upfront and a monoshock unit at the rear. Leoncino 250 rides on 17-inch alloy wheels.

On the other hand, braking duties are handled by a single disc at the front along with a rear disc as well and like the 500, the Leoncino 250 also gets switchable dual-channel ABS. The 250 runs on a 110/70 R17 front tyre and a 150/60 R17 tyre at the rear.

On the competition front in India, Benelli Leoncino 250 will take on FZ25, KTM 250 Duke and the recently launched Suzuki Gixxer 250.

It is being expected that the cost of Benelli Leoncino 250 will range between 1.8 to 1.9 lakh ex-showroom.
