Hero MotoCorp on Monday launched the long awaited model Maestro Edge 125 scooter in two variants. It is to be noted that bookings for the new scooter are now open at the two-wheeler maker's outlets across the country, while deliveries will commence at the end of this month. The scooter was first displayed in the 2018 Auto Expo.
Hero Maestro Edge 125 targets younger set of buyers with its sharp, sporty styling. The scooter comes with sharp lines, alloy wheels, USB charging and the company's i3S start-stop technology to achieve higher efficiency. The new Maestro Edge 125 comes with an analogue-digital instrument console that includes a service reminder and a side stand indicator in addition to the usual tell-tale lights.

In terms of power, the scooter has 125 cc single-cylinder air-cooled engine which delivers 8.5 bhp and 10.2 Nm of peak torque. The engine is paired with a CVT unit. The scooter rides on 12-inch front and 10-inch rear alloy wheels. Suspension duties are handled by telescopic forks at the front and spring loaded hydraulic dampers at the rear. Braking performance comes from a disc brake at the front and a 130 mm drum brake set-up at the rear.
The Maestro Edge 125 scooter comes with prices starting at Rs 58,500 for the Drum variant and Rs 60,000 for the Disc version (Ex-showroom, Delhi) which is for the Carb variants. On the other hand, the FI variant costs Rs 62,700 (ex-showroom Delhi).
There are 4 matte finished colour options available on the scooter i.e. Blue, Brown, Grey and Red, along with Panther Black and Fadeless White colour options for the FI version.
In terms of competition, Maestro Edge 125 will go up against scooters likes of the Honda Grazia, TVS Ntorq 125 and Aprilia SR 125 among others.
