Honda Motorcycle and Scooter India Limited launched the Honda Activa 125 making it country's first BS6 compliant two-wheeler vehicle. The vehicle priced at Rs. 67,400 is 10 percent more fuel efficient than BS4 models. The new BS6 Honda Activa 125 comes with fuel injection technology. Its engine is powered by PGM-FI HET (Honda Eco Technology) and can produce a maximum output of 8.4 horsepower at 6,500 rpm. The engine includes a new noiseless ACG (alternate current generator) starter, programmed fuel injection and lighter internal components which will reduce friction and making the engine smoother and more refined.
It also has a new part-analogue part-digital instrument cluster with odometer, speedometer, trip meter, a clock, fuel gauge, real-time fuel consumption figures, average fuel efficiency and even distance to empty readings. Some styling updates in Activa 125 include new LED headlamp with reflectors, chrome inserts on side panels, and a new taillamp among others.
The scooter will be offered with several updated colour options including Rebel Red Metallic, Black, Heavy Grey Metallic, Midnight Blue Metallic, Pearl Precious White, Majestic Brown Metallic. The Activa 125 is 36mm longer, 3mm wider and 19mm taller compared to the older model.
According to a report of NDTV’s carandbike, the new BS6 compliant Honda Activa 125 also gets several new and updates creature comforts including the multi-function ignition switch now has a remote release for the fuel lid, and a remote seat hatch opening operation. The instrument console gets a handy side-stand indicator on the tell-tale lights, which also acts as an engine inhibitor, and will not allow the engine to start if the side stand is down.
