Honda CB Shine SP BS-6 Compliant Motorcycle Launch Today

Honda Motorcycle and Scooter India (HMSI) will launch its first BS6-compliant motorcycle i.e. the new Honda CB Shine SP on Thursday. It is to be noted that the Bharat Stage VI (BS-VI or BS-6) emission regulations will come into effect from April 1, 2020.

According to a report of NDTV’s carandbike, Honda CB Shine SP will come equipped with an updated 125 cc engine and a new design. Also, the dimensions of the upcoming model will be different from the outgoing CB Shine SP.

Honda CB Shine SP will have a new fuel-injected engine, and it's likely to sport several new features like idling start-stop system, as well as engine inhibitor when the side stand is down. The upcoming BS-6 compliant motorcycle is likely to churn out 10.7 bhp at 7,500 rpm from the new 124 cc engine.

It is worth mentioning here that the outgoing CB Shine SP's 124 cc engine belts out 10.16 bhp at 7,500 rpm, and peak torque of 10.3 Nm at 5,500 rpm.

The upcoming Honda CB Shine SP will come in two variants, one with front and rear drum brakes with the combined braking system (CBS) while the top-spec variant will come with front disc brake and rear drum brake.

Coming to the dimensions, the upcoming Honda CB Shine SP will be longer, taller, wider, as well as get a longer wheelbase. The frame and swingarm are expected to be new along with other new features like LED lighting and a new digital instrument panel.

The new Honda CB Shine SP is expected to be priced between Rs 70,000 (ex-showroom Delhi) to Rs 77,000 (ex-showroom Delhi).

Recently, Bharat Stage VI (BS6) compliant Honda Activa 125 was launched in India. The new Activa 125 BS6 is available in four colour options i.e. Pearl Precious White, Rebel Red Metallic, Midnight Blue Metallic, and Heavy Gray Metallic. It is offered in three variants i.e. Standard, Alloy, and Deluxe. It is priced between Rs 67,490 (ex-showroom, Delhi) to Rs 74,490 (ex-showroom, Delhi).
