Due to a quality issue in the front brake master cylinder, Honda Motor And Scooter India has recalled more than 50,000 units of four models including Activa 125 (Disc), Aviator (Disc), Grazia (Disc) and CB Shine (Self & Disc) in India.
According to a report of NDTV’s carandbike, HMSI has recalled a total of 50,034 units including all affected models and check them. In a statement, the automaker said, “The affected models could have problem in the front brake master cylinder which could cause difficulty in the rotation of the front wheel and may lead to a complete jam in extreme situations as well. The affected models were manufactured between February 4, 2019 and July 3, 2019.”
The automaker will replace the front brake master cylinder free of cost in the affected models. The HMSI has started to reach out to the owners of affected models through its dealerships today onwards. The customers of the above mentioned scooty and motorbike can check if their vehicle falls under this campaign by submitting their unique Vehicle Identification Number (VIN) on the Honda's website as well.
Recently, Honda recalled 5,088 units of its previous generation models of Jazz, City, CR-V, Civic and Accord in India as part of a global exercise to rectify faulty Takata airbags.
Previously, HMSI announced that it has crossed 11 million customers mark in Western India. It is to be noted that the manufacturer achieved the milestone with sales from the states of Maharashtra, Gujarat and Goa in its 19th year of operations. According to the Honda, the three western states including Maharashtra, Gujarat and Goa collectively contribute 15 per cent to overall two-wheeler sales in India. It holds a market share close to 40 per cent in the western region since FY2015.
