Honda SP 125 BS-6 Motorcycle Launched In India: Specs, Features, Price Inside

Honda Motorcycle and Scooter India (HMSI) on Thursday launched its first BS6-compliant motorcycle i.e. the new Honda SP 125. The introductory price for the BS-6 compliant Honda SP 125 in India has been set at Rs 72,900 (ex-showroom, Delhi). It is to be noted that the Bharat Stage VI (BS-VI or BS-6) emission regulations will come into effect from April 1, 2020.

The BS-6 compliant Honda SP 125 comes with a new design. It gets a fully digital meter, which displays details pertaining to fuel efficiency, gear position, service, and trip, among others. Other features the motorcycle include LED DC headlamp, engine start/stop switch, integrated headlamp beam and passing switch, and chrome muffler cover.

It comes in two variants (Drum & Disc) and 4 colours - Striking Green, Mat Axis Grey Metallic, Imperial Red Metallic, and Pearl Siren Blue.

Below are the variant-wise price (ex-showroom, Delhi) details of the new SP125: 

  • Honda SP125 Drum - Rs 72,900
  • Honda SP125 Disc - Rs 77,100

Honda SP125 gets a BS6-compliant, PGM-FI (Programmed Fuel Injection), 125 cc engine with eSP (enhanced smart power) technology. The engine belts 10.7 bhp at 7500 rpm and develops 10.9 Nm of peak torque at 6000 rpm. It is mated to a 5-speed gearbox.

Honda SP125 BS6 sits on a diamond type frame. It gets a telescopic suspension up front and 5-step adjustable hydraulic suspension at the rear. There are 18-inch tubeless tyres. The alloy wheels have a 240 mm disc or 130 mm drum at the front and 130 mm drum at the rear. The motorcycle makes use of CBS (combi-brake system) with equalizer.

It is worth mentioning here that the SP 125 is the second two-wheeler from HMSI to be BS6-compliant, after the launch of the new Honda Activa 125.
