Kawasaki motorcycles to go costlier from April 1, all you need to know

Kawasaki Ninja 300 is expected to be a part of price hike

Kawasaki Motors announced that it will be increasing the prices by up to seven per cent of various models in India. The new prices for the bikes will come into effect from April 1, 2019. "IKM strives hard to keep the price of its models very competitive in the India market. However, due to the increasing costs of raw materials and fluctuations in foreign exchange rates, IKM is compelled to change the price of our models," Indian Kawasaki said.

The company, however, has not revealed which model will get the price hike. Kawasaki Ninja 300 is expected to be a part of it.

Earlier, Kawasaki revealed the price of 2019 Kawasaki Versys 1000. The motorcycle was priced at Rs 10,69,000. The all-new Kawasaki was launched in November last year and the pre-bookings began at a price of Rs 1.5 lakh.

Naoki Matsumoto, Managing Director – India Kawasaki Motors Pvt. Ltd., commented, “The bespoke Versys 1000 has a style of adventure model, but it is most suited for sport riding and long touring. Technically, it is a crossover from the Ninja 1000 with a purpose of thrilling performance with everyday versatility. I hope our customers explore endless possibilities with the Versys 1000.”

“The Ninja ZX-6R created a great stir when its entry in Indian market was announced. Because the Ninja ZX-6R is an ambitious project for us, starting deliveries of the Ninja ZX- 6R is indeed an exciting moment. We hope that our customers relish riding Ninja ZX-6R on the streets as well as on race tracks’’, he added.

Kawasaki recently opened its production facility in Chakan – Pune, Maharashtra. Currently, Z250, Ninja 300, Versys-X 300, Ninja 400, Ninja 650, Z650, Versys 650, Vulcan S, Versys 1000, Ninja 1000, Ninja ZX-6R, Ninja ZX-10R and Ninja ZX-10RR are assembled in the plant.
