New Delhi:

More than one thousand units of Kawasaki Ninja 300 ABS models has been recalled in India. Yes, you read it right. So if you have one, then you must visit to Kawasaki Motor's authorised service centre immediately.

According to NDTV's carandbike, India Kawasaki Motor has issued a major recall for 1,358 units of Ninja 300 ABS models which are reported to have a major issue with the master cylinder for the front brake. It is to be noted that the master cylinder has been manufactured by a company named as Endurance.

According to the India Kawasaki Motor, the affected models were manufactured between August 2018 and March 2019. In a statement, the two-wheeler maker said, "The primary lip seal on front brake cylinder is not hard enough and it could peel off when the rider applies the front brake. This could result in reduced effectiveness of the front brake and total loss of brakes as well, which could lead to the crash as well."

The authorised dealers of Kawasaki have already begun the process of contacting customer who own Ninja 300 and asking them to bring their motorcycles to their nearest service centre, where the two-wheeler maker will replace the front brake master cylinder free of cost.

Powered by the same 296 cc, four-stroke, 8-valve, DOHC, parallel-twin engine, Kawasaki Ninja 300 ABS churns out 38 bhp of maximum power at 11,000 rpm and 27 Nm of peak torque kicking in at 10,000 rpm. It is mated to a six-speed gearbox. The Ninja 300 gets an assist and slipper clutch. Currently, the Ninja 300 ABS is priced at Rs 2.98 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi).

Last year, Kawasaki increased localisation on the Ninja 300 ABS by sourcing components such as brakes, tyres, alloys and a few body panels as well.
