Benelli will launch the Imperiale 400 retro-classic motorcycle in India on October 21, 2019. However, the company on Friday announced the opening of pre-bookings for Benelli Imperiale 400, for a token amount for Rs 4,000. Yes, you read it right. The pre-booking for the motorcycle can be done via Benelli India's website and at its dealerships as well.
Benelli Imperiale 400 will come equipped with Best-In-Class 3 Year Unlimited Kilometres Warranty as Standard. It will be offered in three colour options i.e. Red, Black and Chrome. In a statement, Benelli has stated that the deliveries of the Imperiale 400 will begin immediately after Diwali.
Benelli Imperiale 400 will feature a 373.5 cc single-cylinder engine with fuel-injection that that belts out 19 bhp at 5,500 rpm and 28 Nm of peak torque at 3,500 rpm. The engine is mated to a 5-speed gearbox. The motorcycle is based on a double-cradle steel tube frame and it is suspended by telescopic forks up front and dual shock absorbers at the rear.
The motorcycle further comes with disc brakes at either end with dual-channel ABS as standard. The bike also has a kerb weight of 200 kg and a fuel tank capacity of 12 litres. It is expected that the price of Benelli Imperiale 400 will be around Rs 2-2.5 lakh (ex-showroom). Importantly, on the competition front in India, Benelli Imperiale 400 will go up against Jawa and the Royal Enfield Classic 350.
