India’s auto sector has been witnessing tough times since the start of the year 2019. However, the festive season came as the silver lining to several automakers but not for Royal Enfield. It is to be noted that Royal Enfield has reported a four per cent decline in domestic sales to 67,538 units in October 2019. The two-wheeler maker had sold 70,044 units in the same month last year.
Royal Enfield’s domestic sales witnessed a drop of 22 per cent to 54,858 units in September 2019, 28 per cent to 48,752 units in August 2019, 27 per cent to 49,182 units in July 2019 and 24 per cent to 55,082 units in June 2019. In the Indian market, Royal Enfield sells motorcycles like Bullet, Classic, Thunderbird, Himalayan, Continental GT, and Interceptor.
However, Royal Enfield’s exports jumped by 987 per cent to 4,426 units in October 2019. In comparison, the two-wheeler maker had exported 407 units in the corresponding month last year. The overall total sales (domestic + exports) of Royal Enfield grew by 2 per cent to 71,964 units in October 2019. The company had registered total sales of 70,451 units in October 2018.

In related news, the 2019 edition of Royal Enfield's annual motorcycling and music festival - Rider Mania – will be held in Goa from November 22 till November 24 with riders from across the globe participating in the three-day event.
