The 2019 Hyundai Elantra has been officially launched in India. Good News. Isn’t it? Well, the introductory price of the 2019 Hyundai Elantra in India has been set at Rs 15.89 lakh (ex-showroom) and it goes up to Rs 20.39 lakh (ex-showroom). It is to be noted that the 2019 Elantra is India’s first fully connected and Hi-Tech Premium Sedan thanks to Hyundai Blue Link connected car technology. Interestingly, the 2019 Hyundai Elantra is third major launch of Hyundai this year after the introductions of Venue in May and Grand i10 Nios in August. 

S S Kim, MD & CEO, Hyundai Motor India said, "The New 2019 Elantra is India's First Connected and Hi-Tech Premium Sedan offering all-round excellence and great experience. The New 2019 Elantra is powered with BS-VI petrol engine delivering Unmatched Performance. An epitome of finesse, The New 2019 Hyundai Elantra will create a new benchmark in the Indian Premium Sedan segment and once again supersede all customers' expectations." 

As far as the exterior is concerned, the 2019 Hyundai Elantra comes equipped with a hexagonal front grille, LED quad projector headlamps with LED DRLs, triangular fog lamps and combination LED tail lamps. Also, it include new 16-inch alloy wheels, two-tone rear bumper, chrome door handles, shark fin antenna and aluminium pedals etc. 

Hyundai’s premium sedan boasts 34 Blue Link features, including 10 India specific features. The Bluelink connectivity features of Hyundai Elantra 2019 have been categorised under seven sections i.e. safety, security, remote, vehicle relationship management, location-based services, alert services and artificial intelligence. 

Among the 34 Blue Link connectivity features are maintenance alert, push maps by call centre, live traffic information, live car tracking, geofence alert, speed alert, auto crash notification, roadside assistance, tyre pressure monitoring system, stolen vehicle tracking, remote engine start/stop, remote climate control, remote vehicle status, auto DTC check, valet alert, idle alert and voice recognition. 

Coming to the interiors, Hyundai’s premium sedan gets a premium cabin with features like 7-inch touchscreen display audio, 8-inch HD touch AVN and telematics system and new instrument cluster with coloured multi-information display. Other features include dual-zone FATC with cluster ionizer, front ventilated seats, auto cruise control, Infinity sound system, 10-way adjustable power driver seat with electric lumbar support and electric sunroof.  

On the safety features front, the 2019 Hyundai Elantra has six airbags, ABS with EBD, Isofix, seatbelt reminder, rear parking sensors, speed sensing auto door lock and impact sensing auto door unlock. It also has TPMS with display on MID, IRVM with telematics switches, front and rear parking sensors with rear camera, burglar alarm, HSA, ESC, VSM, rear defogger with timer, front auto defogger, headlamp escort function, speed alert system and front and rear disc brakes. 

The newly-launched car comes equipped with a BS6 compliant 2.0-litre Nu petrol engine that belts out 150 bhp at 6,200 rpm and develops a peak torque of 192 Nm at 4,000 rpm. It is paired to either a 6-speed manual or a 6-speed automatic torque converter. 

The 2019 Hyundai Elantra is available in four variants i.e. S, SX, SX AT, SX(O) AT. The 2019 Hyundai Elantra is available in 5 exterior colours including i.e. Marina Blue, Polar White, Typhoon Silver, Phantom Black and Fiery Red. In the Indian market, the 2019 Hyundai Elantra is up against Honda Civic, Skoda Octavia and Toyota Corolla Altis.
