2020 Hyundai Creta India Launch On March 17: Engine Details And Variants Revealed

Hyundai Creta, which was showcased at the 2020 Auto Expo, will be launched in India on March 17, 2020. The 2020 Hyundai Creta was unveiled by Bollywood actor Shah Rukh Khan. Ahead of the launch, the company has revealed more details of the new-gen Hyundai Creta or 2020 Hyundai Creta. The 2020 Hyundai Creta has been given a more masculine and futuristic look while being equipped with premium features, efficient powertrain, and smart technology. According to the Hyundai, Creta will be offered with three engine options and 14 variants. Hyundai Creta will be offered in five main variants - E, EX, S, SX, and SX (O) across different engine and gearbox options.

2020 Hyundai Creta: Engine Details

The 2020 Hyundai Creta will be offered with the BS6 engine options. The powertrain in the 2020 Hyundai Creta includes the 1.5-litre petrol, 1.5-litre VGT diesel, and the 1.4-litre Turbo GDI petrol. All the engines are mated to a standard 6-speed manual gearbox. The automatic transmission options include IVT with 1.5-litre petrol, 6-speed AT with 1.5-litre VGT diesel and 7-speed DCT with 1.4-litre Turbo GDI petrol. The 2020 Hyundai Creta has multiple driving modes i.e. Eco, Comfort, and Sport and multiple traction control modes - Snow, Sand, and Mud. The 1.5-litre petrol engine comes with the EX trim onwards, going up to the SX (O) trim. On the other hand, the 1.5-litre diesel comes from the base E variant. Also, there is a diesel automatic available on the top SX and SX (O) variants of the SUV.

Features

The 2020 Hyundai Creta resembles the latest ix25 sold in China. As for the exterior of the new Hyundai Creta is concerned, the car comes with an updated front fascia that boasts cascading grille and refurbished split headlamp setup. The headlamp setup includes LED DRLs. At the back, there is a LED combination lights. Also, there are new alloy wheels.

On the inside, the new Hyundai Creta includes premium upholstery, multifunction steering wheel, 7-inch display for the instrument console, a 10.25-inch touchscreen infotainment system, and a panoramic sunroof. The compact SUV comes with paddle-shifters, remote engine start on the manual variant, rear seat headrest cushion, Bose sound system, and two-step rear seat reclining function.

Safety Features

The 2020 Hyundai Creta comes with a 6-airbag setup on top spec models, though side impact protection, and dual airbags. Also, ABS (anti-lock brakes) and EBD (electronic brake force distribution) are expected to be standard.

Price

The present model of Hyundai Creta is priced between Rs 10 lakh (ex-showroom) and Rs 15.67 lakh (ex-showroom). The 2020 Hyundai Creta is expected to be priced between Rs 10 lakh (ex-showroom) and Rs 17 lakh (ex-showroom). The 2020 Hyundai Creta will be up against the likes of Kia Seltos, MG Hector, Jeep Compass, and the Tata Harrier.
