At the Auto Expo 2020 in Greater Noida, Renault has unveiled two new turbo engines of the Duster. Yes, you read it right. To compete effectively in the Indian market, Renault has introduced the most powerful version of Duster. It is to be noted that both 1.0-litre, turbo petrol and 1.3-litre turbo petrol engines have made their debut at the biennial motor show. The automaker also announced that the 1.3-litre motor will be the BS6 petrol engine that will power the Renault Duster compact SUV. However, the official launch of Renault Duster Turbo is expected to take place around August 2020.
Talking about the new 1.3-litre, four-cylinder, turbocharged, petrol engine, it belts out 153 bhp and 250 Nm torque. The engine will be mated to a six-speed manual transmission, along with an optional CVT automatic transmission. As compared to the older 1.5-litre petrol engine, the new 1.3-litres's power figure is up by 48 bhp while torque has gone up by a hefty 108 Nm. It is worth mentioning here that that existing 1.5-litre petrol engine will be phased out completely.
Visually, Renault Duster Turbo looks almost similar to the existing version save for some minor tweaks. The minor changes include red accents on the front grille, fog lamp housing, as well as Duster and turbo badging on the tailgate. Renault Duster Turbo also gets redesigned 17-inch wheels.

In the Indian market, Renault Duster competes with sub-4m SUVs such as the Maruti Suzuki Vitara Brezza, Ford Ecosport, and the Hyundai Venue. With the new turbocharged petrol engine in place, it might also compete with the Kia Seltos and the 2020 Hyundai Creta.
