Earlier this year, Maruti Suzuki launched the BS6 compliant Alto in India. However, the carmaker on Friday rolled out the 2019 Alto CNG variant in India at a price range of Rs 4.11 lakh to 4.14 lakh (ex-showroom Delhi). The LXi trim of the Alto will cost 4.11 lakh while the LXi (O) trim is priced at Rs 4.14 lakh (all prices, ex-showroom Delhi). It is worth mentioning here that the all-new Maruti Suzuki Alto CNG is about Rs 60,000 more expensive than the petrol version.
It is to be noted that apart from CNG kit, no other changes have been made to the all-new Maruti Suzuki Alto CNG. The hatchback continues raw power from the same 796 cc three-cylinder, petrol motor tuned for 48 bhp 69 Nm of peak torque. Meanwhile, the diesel motor churns out 41bhp and 60Nm of torque. Both the engines are mated to a 5-speed gearbox.
On the features front, the car continues to be equipped with power steering, remote boot, body-coloured door handles, HVAC unit, front power windows, rear child locks etc. The top model of Maruti Suzuki Alto CNG i.e. the LXi (O) trim comes with the passenger side airbag. It also include a high speed alert system, seatbelt reminder and rear parking sensors.
Earlier on the day, Maruti Suzuki also introduced the BS6 compliant Swift and Wagon R models in the market with a marginal price hike. Both the cars also meet the AIS-145 safety regulations for better crash protection.
Notably, the Maruti Suzuki will follow up its existing models in the following months to meet the new safety norms as well as the BS6 regulations.
