The BS6 compliant version of Ford Ecosport was launched in India on Tuesday at an introductory price of Rs 8.04 lakh. Ford has also extended the 100,000 km or 10-year service package to the BS6 model at an additional cost of Rs 4,700. It is to be noted that BS-VI (BS6) emission regulations are set to kick in India from April 1, 2020.
Coming back to Ford Ecosport BS6, the petrol version of the subcompact SUV costs between Rs 8.04-11.43 lakh while the diesel variants are tagged between Rs 8.54- 11.58 lakh (ex-showroom Delhi). Whereas, the BS4 petrol variants of the model were priced between Rs 7.91-11.3 lakh while the diesel trims were tagged between Rs 8.41- 11.45 lakh (ex-showroom Delhi).

BS6 Ford EcoSport: Specifications
The updated Ford Ecosport continues to draw power from the same engines which have been upgraded to meet the BS6 emission norms. The petrol engine is a 1.5-litre, three-cylinder, Ti-VCT motor that produces 118 bhp and 149 Nm of peak torque. It is mated to a five-speed manual transmission as standard while a six-speed automatic gearbox is optional.
On the other hand, the diesel motor is a 1.5-litre, four-cylinder, TDCi motor that churns out 99 bhp and 215 Nm of peak torque. The engine is mated to a five-speed manual transmission as standard.

BS6 Ford EcoSport: Features
Apart from the upgraded engine, be it in terms of looks, cabin, comfort creatures or safety features among others, BS6 Ford EcoSport remains similar to the previous model. It includes features such as 9-inch touchscreen SYNC 3 infotainment system with apple carplay and android auto, embedded navigation system, HID headlamps with DRLs electrochromic mirror, rain sensing wiper and push-button start-stop system among others. The top variant continues to get safety features such as six-airbags while ABS and EBD are standard across variants.
