Ford Mustang, which has been one of the best-selling sports cars of the company, has been announced as the best sports coupe for a consecutive third year.
This year, the Mustang bagged the honorary title while celebrating its 54th anniversary in the market, and yet again, it has been named as the world’s most sold sports coupe.
In terms of figures and data, the company had sold 1,25,809 units of the Mustang in 2017. Moreover, since its European launch in 2015, the company had sold 13,100 Mustang units in the country in 2017.
The company had announced that it had sold 81,866 units of the Mustang in the US in 2017, while in China, the company recorded 7,125 registrations. A total of 5,742 units of the Mustang were sold in Germany, while in France, 942 units were sold, in Belgium, 900 units were sold, and in Sweden, 52 units of the Mustang were sold.

Erich Merkle, the Sales Analyst at Ford, said “The world is falling in love with Mustang. Mustang represents the best of American design, performance and freedom, with an unmistakable personality that's appeals - regardless of your post code.”
The company claimed that the most popular engine iteration of the Mustang was the mental 5.0-lite V8 which made 400 bhp of power and 542 Nm of peak torque.
The 2018 Ford Mustang will be the special edition named Mustang Bullitt and will go on sale later this year. The Bullitt version of the Mustang is a tribute to the legendary Steve McQueen’s movie Bullitt’, where he drives a 1969 Mustang.
