Honda Cars India Ltd has said it has launched a new top variant of its compact sedan Amaze. The company has launched the new grade VX CVT trim in both petrol and diesel versions of the sedan. The petrol variant is priced at Rs 8.56 lakh while the diesel trim is tagged at Rs 9.56 lakh (ex-showroom). "The second generation Honda Amaze set a new benchmark in its segment with over 20 per cent of our customers opting for advanced CVT variants in both petrol and diesel," HCIL Senior Vice President and Director Sales & Marketing Rajesh Goel said in a statement.
"We are delighted to introduce the new VX CVT variant of Honda Amaze to complete the top spec VX range and offer increased choice to our customers," he added. The variant now comes with various additional features like rear camera with guidelines and seamless smartphone connectivity among others.
Earlier, Honda Cars India Ltd (HCIL) had reported a 27 per cent increase in its domestic sales to 17,202 units in March. The company had sold 13,574 units in the domestic market in March 2018, HCIL said in a statement. The company also exported 38 units last month, it added.
Honda Cars posted sales of 1,83,787 units in 2018-19, up 8 per cent as compared with 1,70,026 units in 2017-18.
“Strong sales efforts from the dealers and company during the prevailing tough market scenario resulted in this growth rate, which is ahead of the industry,” HCIL Senior VP and Director-Sales and Marketing Rajesh Goel said.
One of the growth drivers for the company was the all new Amaze, he added.
Japanese carmaker Honda has finally launched the tenth generation of its popular sedan Civic in the Indian market for a starting price of Rs 17,69 lakh. The bookings for the 2019 Honda Civic began from February 15 across all dealerships in the country at Rs 31,000. The company has already received almost 1,100 booking so far and the iconic sedan will be manufactured at Honda’s Greater Noida plant. The car will be in direct competition with Skoda Octavia, Toyota Corolla Altis and Hyundai Elantra.
