The Hyundai SUV Creta has crossed 5 lakh cumulative sales milestone worldwide, Hyundai Motor India, automobile company headquartered in South Korea said on Wednesday. The company has so far sold 3.7 lakh units of the SUV in India and over 1.4 lakh units across international markets. The company sells an average of over 10,000 units of Creta a month.
"With the record sales of over five lakh units in less than four years by any made-in-India SUV, Hyundai Creta has yet again set a new benchmark in the industry," Hyundai Motor India National Sales Head Vikas Jain said in a statement.
"Hyundai Creta is a convergence of design, performance, safety and technology. It is the Perfect SUV fulfilling the diverse needs of our New Age customers," Jain added.
The Hyundai Creta, which hit the Indian market back in 2015, comes with various features, including electric sunroof, cruise control, ventilated front row seats and wireless phone charger among others.

In January 2019, Hyundai updated the Creta for the 2019 model year, and offered an all-new range-topping SX (O) Executive variant. Other new additions to the 'value for money' model include the LED taillights, seatbelt reminder, speed alert system and rear parking sensors as standard.
Talking about other specifications and features, the Hyundai Creta has a 1.6-litre petrol engine that makes 121 bhp and the 151 Nm of peak torque and a 1.6-litre diesel motor that churns out 129 bhp and 260 Nm of peak torque. In addition, the SUV comes with a 1.4-litre diesel makes 89 bhp and 220 Nm of peak torque. Transmission options include a 6-speed manual and an option 6-speed automatic transmission for the 1.6-litre engines.
Being touted as the best-selling model in the compact SUV segment in India, Hyundai Creta is priced at Rs 9.60 lakh to Rs 15.63 lakh in the domestic market and became a shining example of Hyundai's manufacturing excellence.
