Hyundai Elantra 2019 will be launched in India on October 3. However, the bookings for the premium sedan has already commenced across the dealerships of the carmaker. And now, Hyundai Motors have unveiled 34 Blue Link features that will be made available with the upcoming Elantra. Yes, you read it right. Out of the 34, 10 Blue Link features are exclusively for India. It is to be noted that the Hyundai Elantra 2019 will the third major launch of Hyundai this year after the introductions of Venue in May and Grand i10 Nios in August. Interestingly, Hyundai Venue comes equipped with 33 Bluelink connectivity features with 10 of them being India specific.
According to a report of India Today, the Bluelink connectivity features of Hyundai Elantra 2019 have been categorised under seven sections i.e. safety, security, remote, vehicle relationship management, location-based services, alert services and artificial intelligence.
Among the 34 Blue Link connectivity features are maintenance alert, push maps by call centre, live traffic information, live car tracking, geofence alert, speed alert, auto crash notification, roadside assistance, tyre pressure monitoring system, stolen vehicle tracking, remote engine start/stop, remote climate control, remote vehicle status, auto DTC check, valet alert, idle alert and voice recognition.
Hyundai Motor India MD and CEO Seon Seob Kim said, "I am happy to share that the new 2019 Elantra will be India's first smart connected premium executive sedan equipped with the Hyundai global Blue Link technology with the most practical, concrete and convenient features for India."
It is worth mentioning here that Hyundai Elantra 2019 will compete against the likes of Skoda Octavia, Honda Civic and Toyota Corolla Altis.
As far as the exterior design is concerned, Hyundai Elantra 2019 comes equipped with a hexagonal grille, redesigned triangular headlamps with LED DRLs and triangular fog lamps. The bonnet of the upcoming car looks beefier with neatly crafted lines. On the other hand, the rear gets new tail-lights and bumper. It also carries features like new alloy wheels, shark fin antenna and sunroof.
However, there is no word from the automaker about the powertrain of 2019 Hyundai Elantra. Currently, Elantra is available with a 2.0-litre petrol engine and a 1.6-litre diesel engine. The price of the outgoing Elantra is Rs 13.82 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi) and Rs 20.05 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi). It is said that the price of the facelift might be slightly higher than its predecessor.
