Hyundai Grand i10 Nios and Renault Triber were recently launched in India. The two cars are in direct competition with each due to their similar prices, features and specifications. However, Renault Triber and Hyundai Grand i10 Nios will not only have to gain its market by beating each other, but also by putting behind Ford Figo facelift. Hyundai Grand i10 Nios
The new Grand i10 Nios comes in a dynamic look. The front end gets new headlamp clusters with projector lamps. The front grille also gets a new shape and the inside boundary is flanked by two boomerang LED daytime running lamps. The fog lamps have a triangular housing for them. The upfront of the grand i10 Nios gets "cascading grille". The rear looks sporty with the low and wide proportioned bumper.
On the inside, the cabin of grand i10 Nios is compact yet spacious with the upper C pad appearing to be floating on the lower C pad. The dashboard gets a new 8-inch touchscreen infotainment system which gets smartphone connectivity. The steering and the AC vents have been borrowed from the Hyundai Venue.
The Grand i10 Nios comes equipped with one petrol and one diesel engine option. The 1.2-litre petrol churns out 82 bhp and 114 Nm. It comes mated a 5-speed manual gearbox. The 1.2 litre diesel produces 74 bhp and 190 Nm of torque. It is mated to a 5-speed manual gearbox. Both trims are available in the 5-speed automatic transmission (AMT) as well.
The Hyundai Grand i10 Nios is available in six colours - Fiery Red, Polar White, Typhoon Silver, Titan Grey, Aqua Teal and Alpha Blue. Also, there are dual-tone options available as well but only with the Polar white and the Aqua Teal colours and both get a black roof.
Safety features on the Hyundai Grand i10 Nios include ABS with EBD, Dual airbags, rear parking sensors, driver and passenger seatbelt reminder and pretensioners and speed alert system as standard on the car. In the top-end variants you get features like rear view camera, headlamp escort system, speed sensing door lock and impact sensing door unlock.
It is priced between Rs 4.99 lakh and Rs 7.99 lakh (ex-showroom).
Renault Triber
Powering the Triber is the 1.0-litre, three-cylinder engine that belts out 71 bhp and 96 Nm of peak torque. The engine is mated to a five-speed manual transmission as standard and tips the scale at 947 kg.
On the features front, the Triber comes equipped with class-leading 8-inch infotainment system which supports Apple CarPlay and Android Auto.
It also has a push-button start, USB charging at the front, 12V charges for second and third-row passengers, reverse camera, cooled glove box, climate control, separate air-condition control for rear passengers and keyless entry.
In terms of safety feature, the car has four airbags, three-point seatbelts for all three rows, the mandatory speed alert system, rear parking sensors and seatbelt reminder which helps it to comply with the new safety norms.
The boot space is limited to 84 litres when all seats are in use while it can be expanded to 625 litres.
The compact seven-seater multi-purpose vehicle Triber is priced between Rs 4.95 lakh and Rs 6.49 lakh.
Ford Figo facelift
Ford Figo facelift is offered with a 1.2-litre three cylinder TiVCT petrol engine that churns out 94 bhp and develops 120 Nm of peak torque. On the diesel front, Ford Figo facelift gets 1.5 litre TDCi engine that belts out 99 bhp and 215 Nm of torque. Both these engines are paired to a 5-speed manual transmission.
Ford Figo facelift is also offered with a 6-speed automatic transmission which is paired to a 1.5-litre petrol engine that develops massive power of 121 bhp. There are three variants of Ford Figo facelift including Ambiente, Titanium and Blu. The fog lamps on the Ford Figo facelift are well integrated into the front bumper and will come with a chrome and Blue touch, depending on the trim.
On the inside, the Figo’s offering comes equipped with charcoal black interiors, along with several convenience features including push-button start/stop, reverse parking sensors and camera, automatic climate control, USB slots among many others. There's also a 7-inch homegrown infotainment system with touchscreen and built-in navigation.
Ford Figo facelift also comes with Anti-Lock Braking System (ABS) with Electronic Brake-force Distribution (EBD), and there's Electronic Stability Program (ESP) and Electric Power Assisted Steering (EPAS) in the automatic variant.
Additionally, the top of the line Blu variant gets a sporty cellular grille, new 15 inch alloy wheels, dual tone roof, blue themed interiors and a segment-first six airbags.
The price for the Ford Figo facelift starts at Rs 5.15 lakh and goes up to 7.74 lakh (all prices, ex-showroom, Delhi).
