Korean auto major Hyundai has come out with the new generation Verna in the Indian markets. The 1.4 litre engine sedan has been launched in two variants E and EX and priced at Rs 7.79 lakh and Rs 9.09 lakh respectively.
The new-gen Verna was launched for the first time in August 2017 and since then has been selling like hot cakes for the company. Till date it has received over 30,000 bookings and 2,00,000 enquiries in India and over 10,500 Units of export order from global markets.
Commenting on the new engine introduction Mr. Rakesh Srivastava, Director-Sales & Marketing, HMIL said, "The Next Gen VERNA is a super sedan and has established its supremacy in the market since its launch in August 2017.
The Next Gen VERNA with 1.4 L Kappa Dual VTVT petrol engine is the perfect combination of performance and fuel efficiency and showcases Hyundai's commitment to provide products based on customers aspirations. We are sure this addition will strengthen VERNA's popularity and offer the customers a wider option to own and experience the super sedan."
The Verna, which is one of high selling models from the Verna Stable was only available with the 1.6-litre petrol and diesel powertrains and now with the 1.4-litre petrol, the Verna has become more accessible.
The new Verna seems to be a value for money bet as it is close to Rs 2 lakh cheaper than the 1.6-litre petrol version. The 1.4 L Kappa Dual VTVT petrol engine is offered with an output of 99 bhp and 132 Nm of torque.
The folks at Hyundai say that the powertrain is now more fuel efficient and stands at 19.1 kmpl which is an improvement of 8 per cent from before. The 1.4-litre engine will be offered with the 6-Speed manual transmission only.
