Hyundai Motor India launched a new variant of its premium hatchback Grand i10 Nios and the new trim is powered with BS-VI compliant 1-litre turbo petrol engine. The company sells the model with petrol diesel and CNG powertrains.

The Sportz variant, with manual transmission, is priced at Rs 7.68 lakh, while the Sportz (Dual Tone) trim is tagged at Rs 7.73 lakh.

“The GRAND i10 NIOS Sportz variant with the 1 litre Turbo GDi engine has been introduced for auto enthusiasts that aspire for power packed performance,” Hyundai Motor India Director - Sales, Marketing & Service Tarun Garg said in a statement.

Recently, the South Korean automaker recalled over 16,000 units of the CNG variants of the hatchback and Xcent for CNG filter assembly issue.

According to the NDTV’s carandbike, the recall affected a total of 16409 units of only the non-ABS and CNG variants of the Grand i10 and Xcent which were manufactured between August 1, 2017, to September 30, 2019.

The company to replace the affected part without charging any fee. It is worth mentioning that both Hyundai Grand i10 and Xcent CNG comes with the same 1.2-litre Kappa VTVT petrol engine.

Recently, Nissan Motors also recalled at least 3,94,025 cars in the United States over a braking system defect, causing concerns that a brake fluid leak could potentially lead to a fire.

In a filing with the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) under recall number 18V-601, Nissan said, “The leak into internal circuit boards will trigger a warning to drivers, which if ignored may lead to a fire in rare instances.”
