Hyundai Motor India on Friday said it has launched an online sales platform in addition to its existing physical retail sales network. The company said its ‘Click to Buy’ is a first-of-its kind online sales platform with simple and transparent process for purchase of Hyundai cars.

“It is India’s first online sales platform to cater to the needs of new-age digital customers for purchase of new Hyundai cars,” Hyundai Motor India MD and CEO SS Kim said in a statement.

The retail selling has witnessed a tremendous shift since the last decade and the new generation is immensely inclined to buy products online, he added.

Hyundai has currently introduced the initiative on a pilot basis with few dealers in Delhi-NCR. All company models will be available on the ‘Click to Buy’ website and this would act as an additional sales channel for company’s dealerships.

As per a study, there are more than 560 million internet users in India today and by 2020, more than 70 per cent of Internet users are expected to buy goods and services online.

Apart from this, Hyundai is all set to replace Xcent with subcompact sedan Aura. Now, the automaker has confirmed that the Hyundai Aura will be launched in India on January 21. However, the Aura can be booked with a down payment of Rs 10,000 at Hyundai website and dealerships.

It is to be noted that the price for the upcoming Hyundai Aura is expected to range between Rs 5.50 lakh (ex-showroom) and Rs 9 lakh (ex-showroom). After the launch in India, Hyundai Aura will compete against Maruti Suzuki Dzire and Honda Amaze, among others. HMIL Director - Sales, Marketing & Service, Tarun Garg said the company is beginning a new decade with the commencement of bookings for the Aura.

“We are confident that Hyundai Aura will make a mark in its segment,” he added. The car will be launched on January 21. It will compete with the likes of Maruti Suzuki Dzire, Honda Amaze, and Ford Aspire, which are priced between Rs 5.82-9.79 lakh, in the compact sedan segment.
