Hyundai unveils compact SUV 'Venue' in India, to launch on May 21

The South Korean automaker has finally unveiled another compact SUV in the Indian market as Hyundai Venue. The car is said to be in direct competition with Maruti Suzuki Vitara Brezza, Mahindra XUV300, Tata Nexon and Ford Ecosport.

Hyundai unveils compact SUV Venue in India, to launch on May 21 (Twitter)

The South Korean automaker has finally unveiled another compact SUV in the Indian market as Hyundai Venue. The car is said to be in direct competition with Maruti Suzuki Vitara Brezza, Mahindra XUV300, Tata Nexon and Ford Ecosport.

The all new subcompact SUV is inspired by Hyundai’s Santa Fe and the Palisade. It sports a ton of features on the inside including wireless charging, air purifier, HD Display screen, eco-coating, Arkamys Sound, wheel air curtains, sunroof, cruise control, cornering lamps, cooled glove box and rear AC vents.

Hyundai Venue comes with three engine options including high-tech 1.0-litre petrol three-cylinder engine which is said to be the most expensive one. Another one is the 1.2-litre petrol engine which can produce 83 bhp and 115 Nm of torque. The last one is 1.4-litre diesel engine which can churn out 90 bhp of power and 220 Nm of torque.

The engine of the subcompact SUV is with three different gearboxes, the 1.2 petrol will get a 5-speed manual and the 1.4 diesel will get a 6-speed manual, the 1.0 turbo-petrol will be offered with a 6-speed manual as well as a 7-speed dual-clutch auto

“Hyundai Motor India is committed to leading the Indian auto industry by introducing world class product,” Hyundai Motor India Ltd (HMIL) MD & CEO S S Kim told reporters here.

Being India’s first connected SUV not only makes Venue a new benchmark in the segment but also demonstrates company’s unwavering emphasis on offering the quality and feature list products to the customers, he added.

On the inside, the automobile gets an 8-inch touchscreen infotainment system with android Auto and apple CarPlay compatibility.

On safety front, Hyundai Venue comes with upto six Airbags, speed sensing auto door lock, ABS, ESC/ESP, hill assist, brake assist and ISOFIX seats.
