Hyundai Venue was launched for an introductory price of Rs 6.50 lakh (ex-showroom) in India on May 21, 2019. In just two months, the compact SUV has received over 45,000 bookings, reports India Today. Yes, you read it right. It is to be noted that the Hyundai Venue has been generating tremendous response ever since the bookings began on May 2. The feature-loaded compact SUV received over 2,000 bookings on the very first day. Well the bookings have now reached to the 45,000-mark.
The demand and as well as the waiting period for Hyundai Venue is rising day by day. However, the carmaker had celebrated the first month anniversary of the vehicle by delivering 1,000 units on June 21. Currently, the waiting period on Hyundai Venue is up to two months.
"The SUV segment has continued to do well despite the slowing market demands. The newly launched Venue - India's first fully connected SUV has been designed to exceed the rising aspirations of today's millennial customers. Hyundai Venue with its commanding road presence, robust stance and BlueLink connected features, has created a new excitement in the market. Venue has received an overwhelming response with over 45,000 bookings and out of the cars delivered, over 55 per cent customers are preferring the BlueLink-enabled variant," Hyundai Motor India National Sales Head Vikas Jain told India Today.
Hyundai Venue comes in both petrol and diesel engines with the petrol being offered with the dual clutch transmission. The 1.0-litre, three-cylinder turbocharged petrol motor generates 118 bhp and 172 Nm of peak torque. It is mated to a dual-clutch transmission while a six-speed manual is also on offer. It comes in four trims - E, S, SX and SX(O).
The 1.4-litre, four-cylinder, turbocharged diesel produces 89 bhp and 220 Nm of peak torque and is mated to a 6-speed manual gearbox. However, automatic version in diesel variant is not on offer. On the other hand, the Venue is also available in the 1.2-litre, four-cylinder naturally aspirated petrol (gasoline motor). It churns out 82 bhp and 114 Nm of peak torque, which is paired with only a 5-speed manual transmission.
Talking about the dimensions, the length and width of Hyundai Venue is 3,995 mm and 1,770 mm respectively. Other features include dark chrome front grille, projector headlamps with LED DRLs, projector fog lamps, LED tail lamps and diamond cut alloy wheels. As far as the safety features are concerned, the Venue offers six airbags, ABS with EBD, rear parking sensors with reverse camera, ESC, Hill Launch Assist and more.
It is worth mentioning here that the prices of Hyundai Venue start at Rs 6.50 lakh for the base petrol version, going up to Rs 11.10 lakh (all prices, ex-showroom India) for the range-topping automatic variant. On the competition front, Hyundai Venue is up against Maruti Suzuki Vitara Brezza, Mahindra XUV300, Ford Ecosport and Tata Nexon in India.
