Launched in India on May 21, 2019, Hyundai Venue has been one of the most successful launches of the year. The new compact SUV has already garnered more than 50,000 bookings and has been giving nightmares to its rivals like Maruti Suzuki Vitara Brezza and Mahindra XUV300. Hyundai Venue has left behind both the compact SUVs so far as July 2019 sales are concerned. Due to the high demand, the waiting period for the Venue has gone up to 4 months in some of the cities.

On the other hand, other sub-compact SUVs including the Vitara Brezza has no wait time in most of the cities. However, Nexon and XUV300 are readily available in many cities with average wait time between 2-6 weeks. Talking about EcoSport, it commands average waiting period of 15 days to a month. It is worth mentioning here that Hyundai Venue had emerged as the leader of the compact SUV segment with 9,585 units sold during July 2019. Maruti Suzuki India sold 5,302 units of Vitara Brezza, while Mahindra & Mahindra was able to sell 4,464 units of XUV300.

Hyundai Venue comes in both petrol and diesel engines with the petrol being offered with the dual clutch transmission. It comes in four trims - E, S, SX and SX(O).

The 1.4-litre, four-cylinder, turbocharged diesel produces 89 bhp and 220 Nm of peak torque and is mated to a 6-speed manual gearbox. However, automatic version in diesel variant is not on offer. On the other hand, the Venue is also available in the 1.2-litre, four-cylinder naturally aspirated petrol (gasoline motor). It churns out 82 bhp and 114 Nm of peak torque, which is paired with only a 5-speed manual transmission.

Talking about the dimensions, the length and width of Hyundai Venue is 3,995 mm and 1,770 mm respectively. Other features include dark chrome front grille, projector headlamps with LED DRLs, projector fog lamps, LED tail lamps and diamond cut alloy wheels. As far as the safety features are concerned, the Venue offers six airbags, ABS with EBD, rear parking sensors with reverse camera, ESC, Hill Launch Assist and more.
