Kia Seltos receives over 23,000 bookings so far: Specs, features inside

With the launch of Seltos on August 22, 2019, Kia Motors is all set to enter the Indian market. The pre-bookings were started on July 16 for a token amount of Rs 25,000 and on the first day the carmaker received over 6000 bookings. Well, the carmaker continues to receive overwhelming response in the Indian market as it has already bagged over 23,000 bookings.

With the launch of Seltos on August 22, 2019, Kia Motors is all set to enter the Indian market. Yes, you read it right. Kia Seltos will be the first product of the South Korean carmaker. The pre-bookings were started on July 16 for a token amount of Rs 25,000 and on the first day the carmaker received over 6000 bookings. Well, the carmaker continues to receive overwhelming response in the Indian market as it has already bagged over 23,000 bookings.

Recently, it was reported that the compact SUV has started arriving at dealerships across the country. Kia Seltos was first unveiled at the automaker’s Hyderabad dealership, along with Bangalore, Ahmedabad and Siliguri among other major metros.

The automaker has currently set up 192 dealerships across 160 cities in India. All these dealerships of Kia Motors feature Kia's internet of things (IOT) theme or the Kia link App. It means that digital purchase and after sales services will be available at all Kia dealerships. Interesting, isn’t it?

The Kia Link App will help scheduling a service appointment and the owners will be notified about an upcoming or service due reminder, to maintain the vehicle performance.

Coming to the automaker’s maiden product in India, Kia Seltos will be available in Tech Line and GT Line trims. The Tech Line trim will be divided into five variants -- HT E, HT K, HT K+, HT X and HT X+. The GT Line trim will have three variants -- GT K, GT X and GT X+. The compact SUV will be available in eight monotone and five dual-tone colour options.

Kia Seltos will come with BS VI compliant powertrain. The SUV will come with an option of 1.4 litre Turbo GDI petrol engine and a 1.5-litre diesel engine. It will also come with multiple automatic transmission options like IVT, 7-speed DCT and 6-speed AT and a 6-speed manual gearbox. The compact SUV will be available in normal, eco and sports drive modes.

The mid-size SUV will have the iconic tiger-nose grille with full LED headlamps on the front and vertically housed LED fog lamps. On the rear, the car will be equipped with LED taillights and dual exhaust pipes.

Along with 17-inch five-spoke dual-tone alloy wheels, the compact SUV will come with roof rails and shark fin antenna. Inside the cabin, the new Kia Seltos will feature a 10.25-inch touchscreen audio video navigation system with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto compatibility.

The compact SUV will also get features like 8-inch HUD (Heads Up Display), blind-spot view monitor, EPS (Electronic Power Steering), eco coating, three-spoke multifunction steering wheel and push-button start/stop.

On the safety features front, the car will carry multiple airbags, ABS (Anti-lock Braking System) with EBD (Electronic Brakeforce Distribution) and BA (Brake Assist), reverse parking sensors and camera, the compact SUV also gets VSM (Vehicle Stability Management), ESC (Electronic Stability Control), TCS (Traction Control System) and HAC (Hill-start Assist Control). There will be a 360-degree camera as well.

The price of Seltos is expected to range between Rs 10 lakh (ex-showroom) to Rs 16 lakh (ex-showroom).
