Kia Motors will begin its inning in India soon and the Seltos will be the first product of the South Korean carmaker. It is to be noted that the Kia Seltos will be launched in India on August 22, 2019. In the meantime, the compact SUV has started arriving at dealerships across the country. Yes, you read it right.
It is worth mentioning here that Kia Seltos was first unveiled at the automaker’s Hyderabad dealership recently, along with Bangalore, Ahmedabad and Siliguri among other major metros. The company is commencing operations with 256 touchpoints across 160 cities pan India in a bid to reach out to customers more effectively right from the start. The bookings of Kia Seltos are already open for a token amount of Rs 25,000. On the very first day, the carmaker received 6,046 bookings for the compact SUV.
Speaking at the inauguration of the dealership in Hyderabad, Manohar Bhat, Vice President and Head of Sales & Marketing said, "Kia Motors oozes contemporary and stylish design language to make sure that the customer feels this luxury with ease. We have a great product and now to show our care for the customers, we are prepared to provide a world-class vehicle maintenance and repair services with availability of spare parts across the country. Entering India as a global premium brand, we understand the expectations of the customers, so we are prepared to ensure optimum service quality and customer satisfaction."
According to a report of NDTV’s carandbike, Automotive Kia is located in Hitec City and Nagole which will include sales, service and spares under one roof. The Hyderabad dealership is one of the company's 192 dealerships that are currently operational. All the dealerships of Kia Motors will feature Kia's internet of things (IOT) theme or the Kia link App. It means that digital purchase and after sales services will be available at all Kia dealerships. Interesting, isn’t it?
The Kia Link App will help scheduling a service appointment and the owners will be notified about an upcoming or service due reminder, to maintain the vehicle performance.
Coming to the automaker’s maiden product in India, Kia Seltos will be available in Tech Line and GT Line trims. The Tech Line trim will be divided into five variants -- HT E, HT K, HT K+, HT X and HT X+. The GT Line trim will have three variants -- GT K, GT X and GT X+. The compact SUV will be available in eight monotone and five dual-tone colour options.
Kia Seltos will come with BS VI compliant powertrain. The SUV will come with an option of 1.4 litre Turbo GDI petrol engine and a 1.5-litre diesel engine. It will also come with multiple automatic transmission options like IVT, 7-speed DCT and 6-speed AT and a 6-speed manual gearbox. The compact SUV will be available in normal, eco and sports drive modes.
The mid-size SUV will have the iconic tiger-nose grille with full LED headlamps on the front and vertically housed LED fog lamps. On the rear, the car will be equipped with LED taillights and dual exhaust pipes.
Along with 17-inch five-spoke dual-tone alloy wheels, the compact SUV will come with roof rails and shark fin antenna. Inside the cabin, the new Kia Seltos will feature a 10.25-inch touchscreen audio video navigation system with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto compatibility.
The compact SUV will also get features like 8-inch HUD (Heads Up Display), blind-spot view monitor, EPS (Electronic Power Steering), eco coating, three-spoke multifunction steering wheel and push-button start/stop.
On the safety features front, the car will carry multiple airbags, ABS (Anti-lock Braking System) with EBD (Electronic Brakeforce Distribution) and BA (Brake Assist), reverse parking sensors and camera, the compact SUV also gets VSM (Vehicle Stability Management), ESC (Electronic Stability Control), TCS (Traction Control System) and HAC (Hill-start Assist Control). There will be a 360-degree camera as well.
The price of Seltos is expected to range between Rs 10 lakh (ex-showroom) to Rs 16 lakh (ex-showroom).
