Hyundai has discontinued the Santa Fe model in the India. Silently, the company has removed the SUV model from its India website. The Hyundai dealers who have stock of big SUV can only take orders.
The Santa Fe is a slow mover for Hyundai and this is one of the main reason for Hyundai to discontinue the SUV. In July only 14 units of the Santa Fe were sold.
In the first quarter of the financial year 17-18, only 45 Santa Fe's were sold and the numbers are not enough to sustain production.
The Santa Fe was the third-generation model globally that was launched in the India at the 2014 Auto Expo. Its competition, the Toyota Fortuner, and Ford Endeavour are selling much more and are priced to undercut the Santa Fe.
The model was available only with a 2.2-litre turbo-diesel engine-offering 197PS and a torque of 421Nm with six-speed transmission options. It was available with automatic only.
However, the company has not revealed yet any other plan to bring another model.
