India’s leading utility vehicle manufacturer Mahindra released its sale figures for the month of January 2019. As per the report, the car manufacturer has registered increase in its sales figure by 7 per cent. In the month of January, 2019, the overall sales has reached to 55,722 units 3,659 units more as compared to last year’s figure, which is almost 7 per cent growth overall.
Rajan Wadhera, President of Automotive sector, Mahindra and Mahindra Ltd said, "The first month of the new calendar year continues to be on an overall growth path. There is buoyancy in rural growth, commodity costs are levelling, fuel prices are coming down and we see improvement in Forex movement, which in turn will drive positive customer sentiment. Having successfully established the Marazzo & Alturas brands and with the upcoming launch of our new compact SUV, the XUV300, we are positive on our outlook’’.
However, in the domestic market, Mahindra’s passenger car segment witnessed 1 per cent rise in its sales figure which was 23,872 vehicles in the month of January 2019, compared to 23,686 units in the same month last year.

Recently, Mahindra launched Marazzo and is all set to launch compact SUV, XUV300.
The Mahindra XUV300 will come in two engine variant options, both petrol and diesel. In the petrol engine variant, it comes with a 1.2-litre which can produce 121 PS of power and 200 Nm of torque while the diesel engine comes with a 1.5-litre engine which produces 300 Nm of torque. The engine of Mahindra XUV300 is mated with a 6-speed transmission.
On the other hand, Mahindra Marazzo comes with a D15 1.5-litre four-cylinder diesel engine which can produce a power of 121 hp @ 3500 rpm and 300 Nm of torque @ 2500 rpm. It is mated with a 6-speed manual transmission and has a fuel tank capacity of 45 litres.
