Mahindra is expected to showcase four new electric vehicles at the upcoming 2020 Auto Expo. The carmaker has released an teaser of its Auto Expo line-up. However, Mahindra has not revealed the names of the four upcoming electric vehicles. One of the vehicles in the line-up seems to be a new electric SUV concept that will most likely preview the next-gen XUV500 SUV.
The new XUV500 is due to launch in 2020 with petrol and diesel engines. Mahindra will also launch three new EVs by 2021 and they may also make an appearance at the Auto Expo. The other vehicles are expected to be the electric versions of the XUV300, KUV100 and Mahindra's new quadricycle.
The XUV500 electric, which will be showcased as a concept, is the biggest car in the lineup. It is set to be launched later this year in petrol and diesel engine options. This SUV will come under newly formed Mahindra-Ford JV platform.
The XUV300 Electric is expected to debut in a production-ready form. It is based on the current XUV300 compact-SUV which is available in both petrol and diesel engine formats.
The eKUV100 was showcased as a prototype at the Auto Expo 2018 and is expected to be displayed a production-spec version.
The Mahindra Atom quadricycle was also previewed at Auto Expo 2018 and early reports suggested that it will take on petrol and diesel offerings in the Indian LCV (Light Commerical Vehicle) segment by 2021.
Auto Expo 2020 will take place from February 7 to February 12 at India Expo Mart in Knowledge Park II, Greater Noida, Uttar Pradesh. Auto Expo will be open for general public from 7-12 February, out of which 7 February is allocated for business visitors like automotive dealers. So, while the people can visit the expo on this day as well but will have to pay higher price for the tickets.
