India’s auto sector has been witnessing tough times since the start of 2019 and various automakers, including Honda, Mahindra, and Maruti Suzuki are in huge loss. However, the auto sector is showing signs of recovery with carmakers reporting the major boost in terms of sales, thanks to the festive season. On the occasion of Dhanteras, a number of carmakers including Maruti Suzuki made a record number of deliveries. Maruti Suzuki, India’s largest carmaker, has delivered as many as 45,000 units on Dhanteras. It is to be noted that Dhanteras is one of the most preferred days during the festive season to make any big purchase.
According to report of NDTV’s carandbike, models like the Alto, WagonR, Swift, Baleno, and Dzire were the front runners this festive season. Maruti Suzuki Baleno alone has bagged 21,000 bookings during the festive season period and the company is expecting a growth of 17 per cent to 20 per cent.
Maruti Suzuki India sells models like Vitara Brezza, Dzire, Swift, Alto, Alto K10, Celerio and Eeco through the Arena dealerships. On the other hand, models like Baleno, Ciaz, Ignis, S-Cross, and XL6 are sold via the Nexa dealerships. To encash this festive season, the automaker has given whopping discounts across its product line-up.
Maruti has been offering benefits of up to Rs 2 lakhs on popular models like the Vitara Brezza. Models like the Alto 800 and Alto K10 come with benefits up to Rs 65,000 each, while the Swift petrol and Swift diesel get discounts up to Rs 50,000 and Rs 77,700, respectively. Likewise, the Dzire petrol and Dzire diesel get discounts up to Rs 55,000 and Rs 84,100 respectively.
The company had also announced offers on the Celerio, Eeco 7 seater and Eeco 5 seater, with discounts going up to Rs 65,000, Rs 50,000 and Rs 40,000 respectively. The automaker is also offering Rs 50,000 benefits on the Ignis, Rs 30,000 benefits on Baleno petrol, Rs 35,000 benefits on Baleno diesel, Rs 55,000 on the Ciaz, and Rs 80,000 on the S-Cross. Additionally, Maruti is also offering 5 years warranty on all diesel models like Swift, Vitara Brezza, Dzire, Baleno, S-Cross, and Ciaz.

It is worth mentioning here that discounts have also helped other carmakers to cash in the festive season demand. Hyundai has delivered about 12,500 units in India on Dhanteras. On the other hand, MG Motor has delivered a record 700 units of the Hector SUV on Dhanteras. Mercedes-Benz too delivered 600 units on Dhanteras.
