The Maruti Suzuki Ertiga Diesel is now discontinued, which means the MPV is now available only in 1.5 diesel engine and petrol engine options.

Maruti Suzuki has decided to discontinue its Ertiga Model of 1.3 Litre Diesel version, and the new model will be available in variants of 1.5-litre petrol and diesel engines. Maruti’s 1.3 litre diesel model was offered in two outputs. In terms of Maruti Suzuki Ertiga, the motor was able to get out 89 bhp and 200 Nm of peak torque, having paired with a five speed manual transmission. The Maruti Suzuki Ertiga 1.5 litres runs similar to the lines of Swift and Baleno wherein its DDiS motor detuned 74 bhp/190 Nm.

The 1.3 litre model will now be replaced with the 1.5 litre K series petrol engine that gives output of 138 Nm of Peak torque and produces 103 bhp. It is also paired with a four speed torque and 5 speed manual convertor transmissions. Apart from this, the engine of this car is equipped with Maruti’s SHVS hybrid technology for enhanced fuel efficiency, which is sold in BS6 version. The new 1.5 litre diesel Ertiga on the other hand produces 94 bhp and 225 Nm of peak torque and paired with a 6 speed manual.

It is important to note that Maruti Suzuki will not sell diesel vehicles after March 2020 deadline.
