Maruti Suzuki S-Presso, the all-new mini-SUV, was launched in India on September 30, 2019. The price of the all-new S-Presso in India starts at Rs 3.69 lakh (ex-showroom India) and goes up to Rs 4.91 lakh (ex-showroom India). The S-Presso is based on Maruti Future S concept and it is up against Renault Kwid facelift in the Indian market. Interestingly, Renault Kwid facelift was launched in India on October 1, 2009. The price of 2019 Renault Kwid facelift in India has been set at Rs 2.83 lakh to Rs 4.84 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi). Maruti Suzuki S-Presso 

The S-Presso is 3,665 mm in length. Its width and height are 1,520 mm and 1,564 mm, respectively. The wheelbase measures 2,380 mm. 

The car has strong visual connect with the form, design and detailing of the Vitara Brezza. The S-Presso mini SUV has a tall stance and a boxy shape and does manage to stand out of the crowd in the hatchback space. At the rear, the S-Presso gets a big boot lid and square-like tail lamps. 

On the inside, the S-Presso gets all-black interior and the dashboard gets body-coloured inserts, in the top trims. The highlight of the S-Presso’s interior has the round centre console. The mini-SUV have smartphone connectivity in the form of Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. 

The steering wheel gets control for audio and Bluetooth. The centre console also houses controls for the AC and power windows along with having a USB port and a 12 V socket.  

The top trim of the S-Presso comes equipped with the safety features such as dual-airbags, rear-parking sensors and speed sensing door locking. However, a driver side airbag will be offered as standard on the base models with the option of getting a passenger airbag. 

Maruti S-Presso comes equipped with a BS6-compliant 1.0-litre three-cylinder K-Series petrol engine that will produce 67 bhp at 5,500 rpm and 90 Nm of peak torque at 3,500 rpm. It is mated to a 5-speed manual gearbox along with an AMT option as well. 

The S-Presso is offered in four key variants including Standard, LXI, VXI, and VXI+. The four variants further have 10 options based on trims and transmission choices. The variants are Standard, Standard (O), LXI, LXI (O), VXI, VXI (O), VXI+, VXI AGS, VXI (O) AGS, and VXI+ AGS. 

The car is available with 2 wheel sizes, 13-inch and 14-inch. Therefore, it comes with two height options i.e. 1,549 mm and 1,564 mm respectively. 

2019 Renault Kwid Facelift 

The 2019 Renault Kwid facelift gets totally a new fascia with repositioned headlamps, LED DRLs and newly designed grille. The new horizontal headlamps are positioned below with black inserts, while the Climber trim gets a larger black housing with orange highlights. The car also gets a large central airdam with underbody cladding. 

The sides show a similar profile as the model it replaces. However, the hatchback now gets newly designed optional 14-inch alloy wheels along with a high ground clearance of 184 mm. 

Whereas, the rear of the car has been reworked and the tail-lamp unit sports a new C-style design. It also gets revised bumper with some more cladding, sculpted bumper and vertical reflectors. 

The cabin gets a dual-tone dashboard and chrome interior accents. Buyers can opt between a sporty orange and white fabric upholstery with striped embossing, or premium crossway fabric upholstery with a red outline. It further gets a leather-wrapped steering wheel with contrast stitching along with the stylish dashboard with a piano black accent. 

The 2019 Renault Kwid facelift comes equipped with a new 8-inch touchscreen infotainment system, with Android Auto, Apple CarPlay, Video Playback and Voice Recognition. 

It further has a fast-charging USB port with a power output of 2.4A and a 12V outlet at the rear. Importantly, the newly-launched Kwid offers best-in-class boot space of 279 litres, which is expandable up to 620 litres.  

On the safety features front, the car gets driver-side airbag with an option of the passenger side airbag, Anti-lock Braking System (ABS) with Electronic Brakeforce Distribution (EBD), driver & co-driver seat belt reminder and overspeed alert, standard across all variants.  

The car comes equipped with 0.8-litre and 1.0-litre three-cylinder units. Both the engine options will be available with a choice of a five-speed manual gearbox or an AMT. While the smaller three-cylinder petrol engine churns out 53 bhp at 5678 rpm and develop 72 Nm of peak torque at 4386 rpm, the bigger 1.0-litre, three-cylinder petrol engine produces 67 bhp at 5500 rpm. 

The engines are still BS4 compliant and the shift to BS6 is likely to happen next year. 

In addition to an all-new Zanskar Blue colour, the 2019 Renault Kwid facelift is available in five colour options i.e. Fiery Red, Moonlight Silver, Ice Cool White, Outback Bronze and Electric Blue.
