Back in 2016, Maruti Suzuki launched the Vitara Brezza in India and since then it has been the hottest selling subcompact SUV. So far, the company has sold over 4.35 lakh units. However, now Maruti is trying to spice up the range as the company has launched the Vitara Brezza in a new Sports Edition. Yes, you read it right.
The new Sports edition of Vitara Brezza is all about updated interior and cosmetics. The Sports edition will be Rs 29,990 costlier then the regular model and will be available to the limited buyers. The prices of Sports edition of Vitara Brezza start at Rs 7.98 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi).

It is to be noted that the limited edition model gets the accessory package which can be customized on any variant of the model. Customers can choose from a wide range of accessories including new seat covers, designer mats, side cladding, body graphics, front and rear garnish, leather steering cover, door sill-guard, wheel arch kit and neck cushion among others.
Interestingly, Maruti Suzuki will be soon launching the facelifted model of the Vitara Brezza with a new BS6 compliant powertrain. The long awaited petrol-hybrid version of the Vitara Brezza will use the 1.2 litre K-Series petrol engine with 104 Bhp-138 Nm and the Suzuki Hybrid Vehicle System (SHVS) mild hybrid unit.
Well, the company has been offering the VItara Brezza only with the 1.3-litre DDiS 200 diesel engine. According to NDTV’s carandbike report, Maruti Suzuki has decided to put an end to the diesel technology altogether, it can still introduce its latest in-house developed 1.5-litre DDiS 225 diesel motor in the Vitara Brezza if it sees the enough demand despite the high cost.
It is worth mentioning here that Maruti Suzuki recently announced that it will make use of the unutilised production capacity of Toyota's Bengaluru plant to manufacture the Vitara Brezza. In the year 2017, Toyota Motor Corporation and Suzuki Motor Corporation signed a MoU to jointly explore opportunities and share technologies. Both companies have spelt out the areas of collaboration and now it is a known fact that Maruti Suzuki will share the Ciaz, Ertiga, Baleno and Vitara Brezza with Toyota for India and other developing markets.
