MG Hector Plus, the 6- and 7-seater version of MG Hector SUV, will be launched in India in the second half of the year 2020. It is to be noted that the 6-seat version of MG Hector SUV was recently unveiled in India at the Auto Expo 2020. However, the automaker had said that it will showcase the 7-seater version of MG Hector SUV at the time of launch only. It is worth mentioning here that MG Motor, which marked its debut in the Indian market in July 2019 with Hector, has recently crossed 50,000 bookings. So, there may be another launch in July this year in the form of MG Hector Plus.

MG Hector 6-Seat Version: Features

Coming back to the six-seat version of MG Hector SUV, the vehicle has been spotted road-testing for a few months in India. The SUV is likely to be named as Hector Plus. According to a report of Autocar India, MG Hector Plus will come equipped with a different design of LED daytime running lights and the headlamp cluster. It further gets chrome bits which are shaped like a honeycomb design. The Hector Plus is also expected to get new-design alloy wheels. At the back, Hector Plus gets unique tail-lamp inserts and styling tweaks to the bumper with faux dual-exhaust tips. compared to MG’s first car in India (Hector SUV). It boasts of an updated infotainment software and panoramic roof.

MG Hector Six-Seat Version: Specifications

As for the powertrain of the Hector Plus is concerned, it may either get BS6-compliant 1.5-litre turbo petrol, a 1.5-litre petrol with 48V mild-hybrid system, or a 2.0-litre diesel engine. The engine is likely to be mated a 6-speed manual and a 7-speed DCT automatic for petrol and a 6-speed manual for the diesel. However, there is no word on the diesel-automatic version for Hector Plus.

Apart from the three-row seating layout, the interior of Hector Plus gets minor changes as The launch for six-seat version of MG Hector SUV is likely to take place in April this year. After the official launch in India, Hector Plus will be up against Tata Gravitas, Mahindra XUV500, and Hyundai Creta.
