The Marquee British Automaker MG Motor (Morris Garages) India on Tuesday inaugurated its first showroom in Gurugram, Haryana. The showroom of the MG Motor India is the first of the 120 centres that will be soon activated across the country.
It is to be noted that with Hector SUV, MG Motor on May 15 this year entered the Indian market. Interestingly, the MG Motor India has also kick-started the bookings for the Hector SUV from today onwards for a token of Rs 50,000.

In an interview with NDTV’s carandbike.com, Rajeev Chaba, President and Managing Director, MG Motor India, said, "This is in line with our brand purpose of enabling exciting experience every time. So, we thought we will have an experience centre or a flagship store, as well call it, of our own and we tried to give a very different experience." He further added, "This is different than other places, and it goes back to the same thing that, if we need to be successful in this market, which is very tough, we need to do things in a different way, in a disruptive way and make sure that our employees are satisfied, dealers and dealer employees are satisfied, and if this set of people are ok, they will take care of customers. This is not a typical showroom, this is very different!"
MG Hector SUV Specifications
The length and width of MG Hector is 4,655 mm and 1,835 mm respectively. The height and wheelbase of MG Hector are 1,760 mm and 2,750 mm respectively. It comes with the option of both, petrol and diesel powertrains. There is a 1.5-litre turbocharged petrol engine good for 143 PS and 250 Nm of peak torque, with a standard 6-speed manual gearbox. You can have it with a 6-speed DCT (Double Clutch Transmission) also. Then there is a 2.0-litre turbocharged diesel motor producing 170 PS and 350 Nm of peak torque. It is mated with a 6-speed manual transmission.
Hector also gets a segment first 48V Hybrid System with the petrol trim. Boasting of better fuel efficiency and lower emissions, this variant also gets a 6-speed manual gearbox. Features MG Hector has LED headlamps and front and rear fog lamps, LED DRLs and tail lamps, dual tone machined alloys and floating light turn indicators. There will also be a 7-inch coloured MID and a 10.4-inch HD touchscreen AVN system. It also features the next-gen iSMART connectivity technology.
Other features the SUV offers include a premium cabin equipped with power adjustable seats, electronic parking brake, 360-degree camera and cruise control. However, MG Motor India has not revealed the prices of the new Hector yet.
