Tata Altroz Official Bookings to Start On December 4

Tata Altroz is all set to be launched in India in January next year. Along with the launch, Tata’s new vehicle will mark the entry of the automaker in the premium hatchback segment, which is dominated by the likes of Maruti Suzuki Baleno and Hyundai Elite i20. Now, the reports suggest that the bookings for Tata Altroz will officially begin from December 4. 

It is worth mentioning here that the Tata Altroz launch was supposed to take place in mid-2019. However, the premium hatchback would have been offered with BS4 engines then. The launch was postponed to January 2020 following the carmaker's decision to launch the Altroz with BS6 motors from the very beginning.

Meanwhile, select dealers in Mumbai and Delhi accepting bookings for Tata Altroz at Rs 25,000. The production of Tata Altroz has already commenced and the automaker recently rolled off the first unit of premium hatchback from its assembly line at the Chakan plant. After the official launch, Tata Altroz will compete against Maruti Suzuki Baleno, Honda Jazz, and Hyundai i20 in the Indian market.

According to the a report by Autocar India, Tata Altroz includes automaker’s signature humanity line grille with glossy black treatment, flanked by a pair of sleek headlamps with integrated indicators, and a secondary light positioned below with LED daytime running lamps. The premium hatchback will further get a set of twin-four-spoke alloy wheels a blacked-out roof and LED taillamps.

On the features front, Tata Altroz will come equipped with the large touchscreen infotainment system with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, navigation, a fantastic audio system and more. It is expected to have a semi-digital instrument console. Also, Tata Altroz will include the automatic headlamps and rain-sensing wipers, keyless entry, push-button start-stop, cruise control, puddle lamps, and many more.

The Autocar’s report further suggest that the upcoming Altroz will come equipped with three BS6-compliant engines including 1.2-litre petrol (85 hp), 1.2-litre turbo-petrol (102 hp) and 1.5-litre diesel (90 hp). All three engines will be mated to a standard 5-speed manual gearbox.

Though there is no official word from Tata Motors regarding the Altroz price, it is expected that the premium hatchback will cost in the range of Rs 5.50 lakh (ex-showroom) and Rs 8.50 lakh (ex-showroom).
