Indian automaker Tata Motors has finally unveiled launch details of its two concept cars H5X and 45X. Both the cars were also showcased at the Auto Expo 2018 in New Delhi.

Indian automaker Tata Motors has finally unveiled launch details of its two concept cars H5X and 45X. Both the cars were also showcased at the Auto Expo 2018 in Geneva.

Tata H5X SUV is slated to hit the Indian roads in the first quarter of 2019 and Tata 45X hatchback in the second half of 2019.

In a conversation to TOI, Mayank Pareek, President of Tata Motors PV business unit said, "In the first quarter of next year, we will introduce the Tata H5X, a new SUV based on the Omega platform. In the second half of the year, we will launch the premium hatch 45X based on the Alpha platform. Over the next three years, we will develop an entire suite of products, including sedans and other products that are currently missing from our portfolio’’.

The all-new Tata H5X will be a 5-seater SUV which is based on Land Rover L550’s Optimal Modular Efficient Global Advanced Architecture (OMEGA). And, Tata 45X will be a 5-seater hatchback which is based on Advanced Modular Platform.

Tata H5X will sport a 2-litre turbocharged diesel engine which can produce 140 bhp of power and 320 Nm of torque. It will have a 6-speed manual and 9-speed automatic transmission.

It is expected that the Tata H5X will also feature four-wheel drive technology as an option.

Talking about Tata 45X, the hatchback to come with a 1.2-litre petrol and 1.05-litre diesel engine. The car will also feature large wheel arches and also bolder styling

Once launched, Tata 45X will be in direct competition with Maruti Suzuki Baleno and Hyundai i20 Elite.
