With 14 design enhancements, Tata Harrier Dark Edition was recently launched in India at Rs 16.76 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi). It is worth mentioning here that the automaker had first launched its premium mid-sized sedan in the Indian market in January.

As the name suggests, the new special edition model comes with a complete black theme inside out features black exterior elements and all-black interior. Interesting, isn’t it? Tata will be offering the Harrier Dark Edition only in the top-end XZ variant of the SUV.

In a bid to make the new Tata Harrier Dark Edition more premium, the automaker is offering 14 design enhancements. The fourteen design enhancements include the new Atlas Black body colour, 17-inch Blackstone alloy wheels on the exterior and matching Blackstone theme for the interior.

On the inside, the cabin comes equipped with the features like Benecke Kaliko Blackstone leather upholstery, Blackstone Matrix dashboard and a new gunmetal grey chrome pack. However, apart from the dark theme, most of the features remain same to the top-end XZ variant.

Tata Harrier is powered by a Kryotec 2.0-litre turbo diesel engine that belts out 138 bhp and 350 Nm of peak torque. It is mated to a 6-speed manual transmission. There is no automatic option available in the SUV. Currently, the Tata Harrier is priced in India at Rs 12.99 lakh to Rs 16.76 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi).

Talking about the dimensions, the length and width of Tata Harrier is 4598 mm and 1,894 mm respectively. The height and wheelbase of Tata Harrier are 1,706 mm and 2,741 mm respectively.

Since its launch in January 2019, the carmaker has updated the SUV with Apple Carplay, introduced a couple of dual-tone colour options, and made improvements to the NVH levels, touchscreen system, steering response and the clutch. On the competition front, Tata Harrier is up against recently-launched MG Hector, Mahindra XUV500 and Jeep Compass in the Indian market.
