Back in 2017, Tata Nexon was launched in India. Since the launch, the Nexon has gone on to become one of the most popular compact SUVs. After the launch, the company introduced several special editions of it since then like the Kraz Edition, Aero Edtion and IPL Edition. Recently, the Tata Motors rolled out the 1,00,000th unit of the Nexon– finished in the Moroccan blue exterior paint shade – from its production facility in Ranjangaon, Pune. It is to be noted that the new production milestone has been achieved in less than 22 months since the launch of Nexon.
On the specifications front, Tata Nexon comes with two engine options. It offers a 110hp, 1.2-litre turbo-petrol as well as a 110hp, 1.5-litre diesel engine. Both engines are mated to 6-speed manual or a 6-speed AMT gearbox.
Coming to the features, Tata Nexon comes equipped with creature comforts like steering-mounted buttons, rear AC vents, an 8-speaker Harman audio system, auto climate control, reverse parking camera with guidelines, a 6.5-inch infotainment screen with Bluetooth connectivity, Apple CarPlay support and Android Auto.
The top model of Nexon comes with steering mounted audio controls, projector headlamps, LED daytime running lights, LED tail-lamps, automatic climate control and alloy wheels along with the above mentioned standard features.
It is worth mentioning here that Tata Nexon was the first made-in-India car to achieve five-star safety ratings in the Global NCAP crash test. It is also the only Indian car to bag five-star safety ratings so far.
The Tata Nexon is priced from Rs 6.58-10.30 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi). On the competition front, Tata Nexon is up against the like of Maruti Suzuki Vitara Brezza, the Mahindra XUV300, Ford EcoSport and the recently launched Hyundai Venue in the Indian market.
