Japanese automaker Toyota Motor Corp and Indian automaker Kirloskar Group, together the Toyota Kirloskar Group, is all set to launch the new Toyota Yaris officially in India on May 18.

However, the group will open the bookings for Yaris on April 23 and the delivery of the car will begin on April 24. Meanwhile, few many dealers have already started taking in the bookings for the car.

Targeted to compete with the likes of Honda City, Maruti Suzuki Ciaz, and Hyundai Verna, the Yaris will be a middle compact sedan between Toyota Etios and Toyota Corolla. This is the first ever C-Segment sedan the company is introducing in India.

The new Yaris comes with a number of loaded features. The automobile will have a 1.5-litre petrol engine mated to two gearboxes, a seven-speed automatic and a six-speed manual. The Yaris will provide a power output of 106 Bhp with a peak torque of 140Nm.

The Yaris comes with features like roof-mounted AC vents with ambient lamination, acoustic and vibration control glass, 4.2-inch TFT MID with eco wallet, hand/air gesture control for the infotainment system, type pressure monitoring system, seven airbags, and tail lamps with LED line guide. The only absence in the beast is that of a diesel engine variant.

Apart from these features, the Yaris comes with piano black interior projector headlamps with LED line guide, rear power outlets, and rear sunshade.

The Toyota Yaris is expected to start at around 9 lakh and go up to 14 lakh, as per reports.
