It's official! Nissan is set to launch a new MPV in India, and the brand has revealed its name. Officially christened ‘Gravite’, the upcoming MPV will join the brand’s India lineup, which includes the Magnite and the X-Trail. With the Gravite, Nissan is expanding its product portfolio in the country. The upcoming MPV is expected to be launched in the Indian market in early 2026 and is set to start reaching dealerships by March 2026, according to Nissan.

Nissan also shared a handful of teaser images of the Gravite, offering a glimpse of how the upcoming MPV will look from the outside. The pictures reveal segmented horizontal LED DRLs positioned within the headlamp clusters up front. This setup gives it a distinctive face. A horizontal chrome slat enhances the grille, while the Gravite lettering sits prominently on the bonnet.
A horizontal insert at the rear connects the split tail-lamp setup across the tailgate. Just like on the bonnet, the Gravite lettering appears below the number plate. Going by the teaser images, we can expect the Gravite to be a modern MPV, different from its siblings.

Nissan Gravite hardware
As far as the hardware is concerned, the Gravite will share the same 1.0-litre petrol engine with the Renault Triber. The power unit will be available with manual and AMT gearbox options. Moreover, the MPV could also borrow its underpinnings from the Triber.
Nissan's roadmap for India
Apart from Gravite, the company is preparing to expand its portfolio in India and is planning to launch two more models in the country. Earlier this year, design sketches of the Tekton were revealed. The Tekton will share its design cues with the Nissan Patrol SUV. Another model from Nissan lined up for 2027 is a seven-seater SUV, which will borrow its underpinnings from the Tekton.
