**New Delhi** — A major milestone in medical diagnostics has been achieved with the issuance of a design patent for the innovative Digital Biothesiometer. This advanced device, which sets new standards in user-friendly and aesthetically appealing medical equipment, is poised to transform clinical diagnostics.

The design patent, officially issued on July 9, 2024, highlights the collaborative efforts of a skilled team of researchers, anthropologists, and designers. The Digital Biothesiometer was developed using design thinking principles, ensuring that the final product not only looks visually appealing but is also practical and easy to use in clinical settings.

Led by Prof. Pulakes Purkait, a prominent Molecular Anthropologist, Translational Health Scientist, and Reproductive Geneticist, the development team focused on creating a device that is both intuitive for healthcare professionals and meets high clinical standards. Prof. Purkait, who also serves as the Director-HOD of ITHS at Rayat Bahra University, Co-Founder & Director of INNR, and Founder & Director of EMBRYOGENESIS, emphasized, "This patent is a significant milestone for our team. The Digital Biothesiometer will transform the way we approach clinical diagnostics with its innovative design."

Ms. Jyoti Garhewal, Founder & Director of the Institute of Nutrigenetics & Nutrigenomics Research (INNR) and Institute of Translational Health Science (ITHS) in Chhattisgarh stated, "Our focus was on creating a design that is both functional and visually appealing. By integrating design thinking concepts, we ensured that the Digital Biothesiometer is user-friendly and meets the needs of healthcare professionals."

Mr. Pritam Das, UGC Senior Research Fellow, Anthropologist and Junior Development Officer, added, "Our iterative process and continuous user feedback were key to refining the Digital Biothesiometer. This approach allowed us to make real-time improvements and develop a product that truly meets the needs of its users."

Mr. Vivek Newar, an IIM alumnus, Founder of Dyet Nutrition, and Scholar in the Department of Nutrigenetics, Translational Health Science, stated, "By applying principles of design thinking, we were able to create a device that not only meets clinical needs but also is user-friendly. This ensures that healthcare professionals can use it with minimal training, making it accessible to a broader audience."

Dr. Ramesh Sahani, a Professor at Delhi University and the institutions of INNR, ITHS, and Embryogenesis - Infertility Diagnostics & Research, provided essential support and collaboration throughout the development process.
